Age: 23
Country of Residence: England
ISP and latency in game.: I'm with Virgin Media on a 20mb connection which is usually under 100ms at all times.
MMO experience(Apart from WoW):
MMOs are practically all I've been playing for the last 5 or 6 years, it started with Anarchy Online for a few years, followed by a few years of Dark Age of Camelot then Guild Wars and finally about four years of WoW. At one point I also tried out Matrix Online but it was so shit I barely made it a week into the trial month
Availability? We raid Sunday-Thursday (4 times a week) and our normal raiding hours are 20:00-24:00 (Servertime).:
These raiding times are perfect.
Why do you want to join Pathogen?
I suppose this is one of those what can you do for us, what can we do for you situations. What I'm looking for from you guys is simply a raiding experience, I enjoy playing WoW in a friendly and humorous atmosphere while making progress at the same time and it appears that this is the best guild for it, also I remember you from Frostmane (that's right I found yaa bitches) so I know the guild Pathogen has earned its name. What I can do for you is attend every scheduled raid, equipped and prepared for action with all my tanking goodness and yes I do fuck on the first date.
In-game information:
I'd just like to mention I have two characters I play frequently the paladin which I am applying with and also a boomkin at around 5.9k gs
Character name:
Kayla
Character race:
Blood Elf
Character Class:
Paladin extraordinaire
What are your current professions and why did you choose them?
I currently have Mining and Engineering, the mining is obviously the best choice for tanking given the stamina perk plus a steady golden income and engineering was because it was the only profession I hadn't tried at the time of making the paladin so after a bit of research I went for it for quite a few reasons some being, that the mote extractor makes a pretty fucking penny when it comes down to it and the engineering flying mount looks siikk. Back in TBC the engineering helms were quite handy as well as the repair bots and with the introduction of some nice tinkers in the current expansion and what's planned to come in cataclysm it has proven to be quite a good choice with some helpful utilities.
Current and or previous guild(s) and your reason for leaving them (if you got kicked, why?):
I tend to have long stays in guilds so for that reason my list isn't too long.
Back at the start when I used to raid as a mage on azjol nerub in vanilla I was in a guild called Arbiters of Light, nice and friendly guild did mostly T1 and some T2 content with them. I left them when I went to uni and cancelled my account then met some people that played WoW there so naturally back came the subscription, I migrated to Frostmane made a rogue called sliceydicey and pwnd the realm lulz. While I played the rogue I was an officer in Lost Soul (remember us?) for about a year or two then we had the whole totemraiser situation which basically brought the guild to an end. After that I was in entombed and wrath within, by this time I was playing my paladin as my main and made it to officer soon enough in both. Long story short the gm of entombed went emo one day and took the gbank and disbanded so the remaining members reformed, that lasted a few months made some good BT progress but as things tend to happen in world of warcraft the noobs got the better of us so it eventually fell apart. At the start of WotLK I was guildless for a little while simply faffing around then joined SesameStreet until they migrated, regrettably I didn't go with them but I did meet a friendly raiding guild which I am currently in at the moment, we are making slow and steady icc10 hc progress (currently 10/12) but I can't help at this point but feel that it should be going faster, the guild does not currently have a 25 man team
Character Armoury Profile:
Kayla (prot pala)
Skatomavros (boomkin)
Are you happy that your Class leader may ask you to respec for raiding? If he/she does, will you do so? if not, why?:
I'm happy to entertain the idea of any changes although I am confident my tanking spec is solid.
What kind of experience do you have? Have you done SSC, TK, BT or Sunwell in TBC? Have you done any previous content before TBC came out, or are you new to raiding in WotLK? What was your role in previous raids? Did you get attuned to Raid Instances before they were nerfed. Don't tell us you cleared The Sunwell if you didn't do it when doing it was relevent. We are not interested in how you defeated nerfed content.
I joined vanilla about 6 months before TBC so I mainly got ZG and MC done on my mage.
In TBC I cleared it all excluding SWP across the rogue and paladin.
And I've been tanking solid since WotLK, 10/12 ICC10 HC and normal modes ICC25.
I would like to point out at this point my limitation has been due to facility rather than skill
How do you prepare for new encounters? <detailed info please>
The first thing I do is read the tactics to gain a general understanding of the encounter plus the images provided are very useful for picturing it in your head and working out the plays, I use more than one source for more accuracy. Once I'm satisfied that I understand the encounter I move on to tankspots famous videos and thoroughly watch them a few times before youtubing more videos of the encounter, more sources = more information = win.
Pie or Cake?
I prefer pussy but if I had to choose it would be cake. Or perhaps....
Are you offended by terms like "Crafty Butcher"?
Are you offended by terms like "Rusty Trombone"?
List your top three greatest wow moments of all time.
1- I suppose the best wow moment happens when that boss goes down for the first time for everyone in the raid, everyone's cheering and all the hard (or easy) work has paid off. Plus with my recent achievement addiction I enjoy seeing that little golden rectangle pop up, then again who doesn't like positive reinforcement.
2- Good for me, bad for the raid was when I used to date this chick that also played wow who liked getting freaky while she was over and I was raiding, that shit is exceedingly good.
3- This one should actually be number 1, some EPIC battle in STV by nessingwary's. I'll keep this brief otherwise I'll be re-enacting it all day. As you know stv is gank central so while leveling my hunter I kept getting raped by some 80 warrior, after having enough I logged my paladin, by the time I got my paladin there he had his rogue mate with him, so my brother logged his resto sham (those of you who know zanruka) we proceeded to have the most epic battle of all time all over nessingwarys, the river and the gy. I'm telling you every CD was a godsend it was amazing, then one of them logged off and a mage appeared, not that it helped them, then the warrior logged on his warlock which brought the fight up over the hills and into the panther area. All this time it was full combat for about 15-20 minutes, I should have fraps'd it. These guys got sooo pwnd I would myself have been embarrassed, we were pissing ourselves laughing mid-combat.
Final thoughts?
I recognise a few names in the guild Voidy, Adimeus and Stonesour, I've also been told Clame is in the guild, I'm sure they remember me on Sliceydicey in case any references are required, I was under the impression Darkestmonk, Lucile and Splitsplt/Hedghog/Amanda the crone were still in the guild.
Also I'm quite capable at raid leading/explaining tactics should the necessity arise, although more recently I have been playing as a raider rather than an officer.
It's probably wise to mention that I may be just slightly undergeared for ICC25 heroic due to the lack of regular ICC25 in my current guild although not enough to be a hindrance of any kind.
I have researched all tactics including the few heroic modes I haven't done so I'm practically ready to show you what I can do
